Easy Chicken Soup Recipe

He said it sure would be helpful to know how a trainer prepares, stores and makes his meals on a daily basis.
I kind of bit my lip, nodded my head and thought, “The dudes right!”. It would also make a handy add on to the Fat To Fit Program. I suppose I have learned a lot over the years on making things easier while still maintaining the necessary ratios of proteins, carbohydrates and fats in my meals. After a while it has to be easy or you just get plain old tired of doing it. Hassles have a weird way of getting tossed aside.
So today I start my recording of the things I eat on pretty much a daily basis. I’ll start you off with my easy, yet still tasty, chicken soup recipe.
My Simple and Easy Chicken Soup Recipe.
Now remember, this is how a single guy that hates to mess around much gets the job done. Here we go.
On the way home from work or wherever, pick up a precooked chicken from the deli. I know Safeway and some of the other bigger grocery stores keep them cooked up all the time. All you have to do is walk in and buy one.
When you get home, strip the chicken off the bones and put it aside in a container.
Here Are Your Chicken Soup Ingredients:
8 cups of water
3 chopped up carrots
4 chopped up celery stalks
1 large chopped onion
1 large yam (or sweet potato, turnip, whatever)
4 cloves of garlic chopped fine (almost crushed actually)
1 teaspoon of thyme
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of pepper
1 teaspoon of sage
½ cup of cooked brown rice
1 whole chicken from bone
All right, easy enough. Once you get the spices and herbs in your kitchen, you’ll use them over and over so it wont be much of a hassle after the first shopping trip.

You may want to add some salt to taste depending. I always like to have a rice cake or two with guacamole to go with this. That recipe will be coming for you too. I’ll add it to the nutrition section of the FLS site.
